It was a beautiful spring season in Dehradun, the capital city of the state of Uttarakhand. Nine-year-old Vikky was excitedly coming out of school with his friend, Rohit. As they walked towards the main road, Vikky’s eyes lit up at the sight of an auto rikshaw waiting for passengers. He grabbed Rohit’s hand and ran towards it, eager to get a ride home.
As they were getting off the auto rickshaw near FRI gate no. 2, a speeding bike suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Before Vikky could even react, the bike hit him with full force. Rohit screamed in horror as Vikky fell to the ground, unconscious and bleeding.
Thankfully, Ravi Tyagi, the founder of the Free Smile Foundation, was passing by and witnessed the accident. He immediately rushed to Vikky’s side and called for an ambulance. He knew that every minute was crucial in such cases and wasted no time in taking Vikky to the nearest government hospital in Premnagar.
After a series of tests and scans, the doctors discovered that Vikky had a Brain Hmarage that had been aggravated by the accident. He needed urgent surgery to save his life. Ravi stayed by Vikky’s side throughout the operation, praying for his speedy recovery.
However, Vikky’s condition was critical, and he needed further treatment. The doctors referred him to Coronation Hospital. Later he was referred to Shri Mahant Indresh hospital where Dr. Pankaj Arora took care of him, he underwent surgery for his Brain & Neck. Ravi continued to support Vikky and his family, providing them with emotional and financial assistance.
Unfortunately, after two months of battling for his life, Vikky succumbed to his injuries and passed away. It was a devastating blow for his family, who were already struggling to make ends meet. Vikky’s father, who worked as a laborer, had died during the court case that Ravi had filed against the reckless biker who had caused the accident.
Ravi was determined to get justice for Vikky and his family. He fought the court case with Advocate Baliyan’s Firm & Mr. Sachin Verma for six months and finally succeeded in getting a compensation of 5 lakhs for Vikky’s mother. With this money, she could go back to her village and start a new life.
The Free Smile Foundation, inspired by Vikky’s story, continued to work tirelessly to bring smiles back on the faces of those like Vikky and his family. They provided support and assistance to underprivileged families, ensuring that no one had to suffer like Vikky’s family did.
As Vikky’s mother left the city with the compensation, the Free Smile Foundation made a promise to her that they would always be there for her and her family. They would continue their mission to bring smiles back on the faces of those who had lost hope. For Vikky’s mother, it was a ray of hope in the midst of her grief and a reminder that there are still good people in this world who care.
